The History of BMCRC
The British Motorcycle Racing Club - BEMSEE
Who are BEMSEE?
The British Motorcycle Racing Club, also known as BMCRC or 'Bemsee', is the world's oldest motorcycle racing club and one of the UK's largest. Founded in 1909, it's original home was at the classic Brooklands circuit near Weybridge in Surrey.
This heritage is significant as the club enjoys a position at the heart of two and three wheeled racing in the UK, many stars of past and present started with this club.
Welcome to the History Archive project of Bemsee. It is important to say at the beginning that this is an evolving database of facts, programmes, photos and memories relating to the rich history of the club, and as with all large projects of this nature dating back to 1900's there are gaps. If you or your friends are able to fill these gaps with information, missing programmes or photos then we would love to hear from you.
It has taken over 6 years of research and compiling to reach this milestone, and it is by no means finished, but we wanted to share with you what we have accomplished so far. No other motorcycle racing club has this rich depth of history and there is still a fair bit more to bring you. We welcome your feed back and please point out any errors you may find.
